Earning by Learning Volunteers

All EBL volunteers and guest speakers must also visit www.dallasisd.org/partners/volreg_form.cfm. It only takes 2-3 minutes to complete. When it comes down to school choice you may select a school or schools, or simply check "undecided" if you have not been assigned by EBL.

Our volunteers are phenomenal. People from all walks of life have joined EBL to make sure children are reading. You will see our best volunteers reading to classes, mentoring children, and lending a helpful hand during special events.

School mentors and reading pals

As a company or individual you can sign up to mentor a student during weekly reading sessions. Visits like these encourage and offer support that goes a very long way in a child's life.

Guest Speakers

Come out and share how reading has affected your life both personally and professionally during our celebrations at schools and clubs. Once you've shared your story, we encourage children to ask questions and we provide photo opportunities.

Program Volunteers and Interns

Community service comes in all shapes and fashions. EBL continually has a need for additional program and event help. Your company can get involved or you can join individually. Either way, we welcome everyone to our team. And best of all, you will receive the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped give a child the tools necessary to succeed.

Bookmobile drivers (must be furnished by the corporation sponsoring the bookmobile)

When you drive our specially equipped bookmobile to school campuses, you'll surprise EBL children with all kinds of wonderful incentives. Once you catch children reading, you will hand out books, school supplies, and other special treats to remind them that Dallas cares that they are reading.
